I recently stayed at Mumfords Villa and it was a truly remarkable experience. The location was superb, with a magnificent library that displayed the highest attention to detail. The warm and friendly hosts were welcoming without being intrusive, making our stay even more enjoyable. The villa itself had everything we needed, from a spacious and comfortable bed to a fully equipped kitchen with top-quality appliances. The underfloor heating in the bathroom and the abundance of solar-heated hot water were delightful touches. Additionally, the private area for walking down to the sea and the surrounding beautiful garden added to the overall charm of the accommodation. I can confidently rate my stay at Mumfords Villa a perfect 10 out of 10.
Nothing to dislike. 👍

The waterfront terrace at this luxurious property was a hidden gem! As I sat there enjoying the stunning views, I couldn't help but feel like I was on the edge of the world, with nature's very own amphitheater as my backdrop. It was like watching a priceless symphony, orchestrated by the ocean and accompanied by the rustling of trees in the vast 20-hectare gardens. Pure serenity!

We absolutely loved our stay at this beautiful seaside cottage. The breathtaking sea view and peaceful surroundings made it the perfect place for our family with 2 small kids. The cozy cottage was equipped with every amenity we could imagine, and the well-kept garden provided a safe and enjoyable space for our children to play. The library was magnificent, filled with books that catered to both adults and children. The hosts, Nicky and Fran, were warm and friendly, making us feel truly welcome throughout our stay. The bath on the deck was an added treat, offering stunning forest and sea vistas. We will definitely be coming back!
We felt truly looked after during our stay and have no complaints whatsoever.

The hosts were super friendly and welcoming. The facilities were top-notch, with a cozy log fire and plenty of firewood to keep us warm. The bathroom was a treat with under-floor heating and lots of hot water. The outside bath on the deck looked amazing, even though it was too cold and wet for us to enjoy. The view from the balcony was simply breathtaking!
The website could have been more clear about the property layout and parking situation. It was a bit confusing when we arrived because it seemed like there might be other guests staying.

Mumfords in Akaroa was a charming and cozy retreat with a warm and inviting atmosphere. The house had a beautiful view, a lovely garden, and an outdoor bathtub. The hosts, Nicky and Fran, went above and beyond to make our stay enjoyable. They even helped us find a doctor when my husband fell ill. The accommodation was comfortable and filled with personal touches, like fresh duck eggs and homemade cake. We would definitely book a longer stay next time.
No issues.

Nestled amidst 20 hectares of lush gardens and native bush, Mumfords offered total privacy and seclusion. It felt like having my own personal oasis, far away from the chaos of the city. Exploring the expansive property felt like discovering a hidden treasure, with each step revealing mesmerizing natural beauty that rivalled the famous Hanging Gardens of Babylon.

When it comes to finding a hidden gem for a relaxing getaway, look no further. With breathtaking views that will leave you in awe, this place is a true haven for nature lovers. The spacious rooms are beautifully decorated, complete with a fully equipped kitchen and a cozy fireplace. The warm hospitality of the hosts, along with the delicious treats they provide, truly enhances the overall experience. Plus, having a private beach just a short walk away is an added bonus.
One minor drawback is the size of the sign at the entrance, which can be a bit difficult to read.
